Rain, something that I never admired growing up in Bramhangaon. For those who don’t know, Bramhangaon is the place where I spent my entire childhood and teenage years. It’s a small village around 35 km from Holy City Shirdi.
To be honest, I always really hated rain due to the mud it brought and the puddles that engulfed the entire roads. Even our entire school ground used to be filled with water, and we needed to carefully step (or jump) on bricks that were placed at intervals to reach the classrooms.
But today, as I am sitting inside Starbucks, on a seat that gives me the most beautiful view of the rain, without getting wet because of its ambient shelter. For the first time in my life, I am admiring the rain.
There is some kind of beauty to it. The way the raindrops spatter on the roads and the way those splashes together create the most beautiful design by some renowned artist. There are some cars right in front of me and watching the raindrops race down their window shields is something I can watch forever.
A car just entered, with its lights on, and its light just made me realize just how heavy the pour is. If we have to be philosophical about it, one can even say that this example is right even for our life. Till our mind is in darkness we cannot see the truth, but as soon as you allow a little bit of light to come in, you realize just how heavy the rain is / how much hurt you are and how much you need to work to heal.
Also, being a poet who keeps on writing about love, romance, desires, I cannot help but wish that I had a special someone, with whom I can watch many rains like this, dance in them, and can kiss that special someone a thousand times (or millions).
P.S. I came here to work on my next novel but couldn’t help but start writing about the rain and its beauty. I also have with me my regular classic cold coffee and a chocolate silk pastry, which is a new. Also, if you haven’t yet ordered Silk and Petals – my poetry book filled with love and desires, you can order it by clicking here.
